I’ve lost my share / stock certificate, what should I do?
If you have a digital PDF certificate, you should be able to retrieve it from the holder portal. If you are concerned that the security of your access has been compromised please contact us.
If the certificate is a printed document but had a QR code please contact us and we can arrange to collect details and issue a replacement.
If the document is a printed one without QR code and has been lost, mislaid or even assumed destroyed, you must inform us via email or in writing as soon as possible in order that your holding can be safeguarded. Once we receive your notification, we will arrange for the certificate(s) to be deemed lost pending invalidation following which, you will need to arrange an indemnity for the lost share certificate which should be returned to us as soon as possible.
I haven’t received my dividend / interest payment. How do I claim the funds
Please contact us via email or in writing as soon as possible confirming your bank or building society details along with 2 forms of proof of identity (passport, recent utility bill) and confirmation that you wish to receive these and future funds via direct credit to your specified account. We will then investigate the matter and arrange for future payments to be settled digitally.
I would like to transfer my shares /stock to my spouse. What should I do?
You can transfer the shares / stock by completing a Stock Transfer Form, which, if required to be adjudicated for stamp duty, should be returned to us accompanied by the share certificate(s). You can download a Stock Transfer Form HERE.
Can I sell my shares / stock through Avenir?
No. If you would like to sell your stock or shares, you should contact your bank or a stockbroker.
The holder of the shares/stock has passed away. What should I do?
We regret to learn of the death of the shareholder and offer our condolences. To have the death registered, you will need to send to us a sealed office copy of the Grant of Representation (Probate / Letters of Administration or Scottish Confirmation, as necessary). If the shares were held in joint names, you will need to only send a certified copy of the death certificate along with the share certificate(s). Following registration, the original document will be returned to you in the post.
Where the shares are to be transferred to the beneficiary(ies), it will be necessary to complete a Stock Transfer Form which, if required to be adjudicated for stamp duty, should be returned to us accompanied by the share certificate(s) and the sealed Grant of representation. The holder of the shares/stock has become incapacitated. What documents will you need to receive?
If you have been appointed deputy by the Court of Protection in England and Wales, you will need to send to us the sealed copy of the Court of Protection Order for registration, as soon as possible. Following registration, the original document will be returned to you in the post.
I have recently been appointed as attorney over the affairs of the share / stockholder. What documents should I send to you?
Please send to us a certified copy of the General or Enduring Power of Attorney as soon as possible. Following registration, the original document will be returned to you in the post.
I have moved address. How do I inform you?
The best way to notify us of your change of address is to access the holder portal. Navigate to the personal details tab on the menu and select the change of address form.
